 Areas of Giving
Gifts to Riverview Health Care Foundation help ensure that quality healthcare continues to be available in the community.
Donors may give unrestricted gifts (i.e., gifts to be used in the way they will best serve local health care), or they restrict their gifts to specific projects, programs, or needs such as:
| Cancer Project Fund - The Riverview Hospital Cancer Project is a fund that was established over ten years ago in a collaborative effort between the United Way of Inner Wisconsin and private donations of Riverview Health Care Foundation. The Cancer Project provides funds to assist with the cost of cancer treatment, cancer medications, supplies, and other needs for local patients in financial need.
Here are a few examples of how the Cancer Project has helped local people: provided patients with gas cards to help with transportation costs for daily treatment appointments; purchased Life Line Units to allow patients to live alone in their homes; purchased home-delivered meals, providing balanced diets important to recovery; paid for taxi cab rides to/from daily treatment appointments for patients who are unable to drive; and purchased pain medications not covered by insurance policies to improve quality of life. |

| Riverview Community Dental Clinic - Recognizing an unmet community health care need, Riverview Hospital Association has initiated the South Wood County Dental Access Program and has established a dental clinic in Wisconsin Rapids for lower income individuals who have Wisconsin Medicaid or BadgerCare Plus insurance coverage. The Riverview Community Dental Clinic is located at 820 Two Mile Avenue in the former dental office of Dr. William Christian. Currently, the clinic employs two part-time dental hygienists, two part-time dental assistants, and a part-time dentist. Dr. Robert McGrath also generously donates one half day/week to the Clinic. Unfortunately, the dental needs of our community are greater than the Clinic can address. Gifts to Riverview Community Dental Clinic will be used to provide dental check-ups, teeth cleaning, x-rays, fillings, and other routine dental care for individuals in need. |

| UW Cancer Center - Riverview - When you contribute to the UW Cancer Center - Riverview you help our organization to remain a leader in innovative research initiatives, compassionate cancer care, and education for the public and health care professionals. Memorial gifts may be made in memory of family members, friends, or colleagues who have passed away. Honor gifts show someone in your life a measure of affection, admiration or gratitude. When such gifts are made, a special notification is sent to the family or the individual sharing your thoughtfulness. |
